The spark: where literal guides began
Literal Guides for Literal Thinkers started from a personal need: I found I approached hard conversations best with structure. As a parent raising a literal, neurodivergent child, I realized I often knew what I didn’t want to repeat from my own upbringing, but not what to do instead.
So, I started writing. Instead of lecturing or reacting emotionally, I built guides with step-by-step explanations, clear language, and thought-out sequencing. 'Your Body, Your Life' grew from this exact process – created because I couldn't find a resource that explained growing up in a direct, structured way suitable for my literal thinker.
My approach: clarity over convention
As a literal thinker raising a very literal thinker, my perspective is unique. I don’t rely on vague advice or social hints; I prioritize clarity. I break sensitive topics down into manageable pieces and think through them carefully before presenting them. This method helps me avoid overexplaining, drifting off topic, or reacting emotionally.
I have thousands of hours spent listening, reading, and learning during long stretches of highway. I've studied widely, questioned deeply, and approached these topics with intention. This work comes from lived experience, careful thought, and a commitment to doing better than what I was shown.

Our shared goal: breaking cycles with clarity
I come from a background where cycles were repeated because they weren't examined. I knew early on I wanted something different for my child. Writing became the way I figured out what to build instead of what to avoid. Professionally, I'm a truck driver, which suits my introverted personality. Long hours on the road gave me space to think, learn, and absorb information through audiobooks and podcasts. I’m not interested in complicated terminology or academic language; I care about practical application.
Literal Guides is built on that mindset: real-world, clear, usable. For personal and safety reasons, I write under a pen name, focusing entirely on providing valuable, structured content.
"I want families to feel equipped to handle complex topics without guessing. I want literal thinkers to receive explanations that make sense to them, without shame or confusion. My hope is these guides reduce anxiety — for both the adult teaching and the child learning — by replacing vague conversations with structured clarity."
